SHORT-TERM Testing
Health Canada guidance recommends conducting a long-term test of over 90 days during the heating season to make a mitigation decision. Whether it’s the home your family is already living in or one you’re considering purchasing, sometimes you just want to know now. We use only the most state-of-the art, Health Canada-approved testing equipment and provide an emailed report the same day the test is completed. Short-term tests can be as brief as 48 hours, or up to five days for real estate transactons.

A mitigation decision should be based on a long-term test to best assess average radon levels in your home. This can be done with a simple do-it-yourself device placed in your home according to the supplied instructions. After at least 90 days, you simply seal the device and ship it to a third-party lab for analysis and emailed report. We’ve partnered with Canadian testing leader, AlphaTracker, to provide this certified service at the lowest possible cost.
CUSTOM DESIGNED MITIGATION
If your average radon levels are above 200 becquerels per cubic metre, Health Canada recommends mitigation. Even with lower levels, you may wish to protect your home from future increases. We’ll perform testing to design an effective and cost-efficient mitigation system, routing soil gases to the safety of the outdoors and preventing them from entering your home.

Variable speed controllers allow us to "dial in" the exact amount of suction needed—no more, no less. We use RadonX™, Canada’s first specifically engineered PVC soil gas venting system. Unlike standard plumbing pipes, RadonX™ is designed for one purpose: safe radon extraction. Fantech Vibration Isolating Couplers: Quiet is Key
We utilize Low Durometer Vibration Isolating (LDVI) couplers to connect the fan to your piping. An upgrade from the standard rubber “fernco”, these specialized flexible couplers absorb fan vibration, preventing noise from traveling through your home's structure. They feature a unique internal "ledge" that ensures the pipe stays in place, maintaining a permanent, leak-proof seal.

The best components are useless if the system is poorly designed. Our properly planned ASD systems focus on "Pressure Field Extension" to save you money. By optimizing the suction points based on your home's unique soil and sub-slab profile, we run our fans at the lowest effective speed, reducing energy cost. Non-certified systems often pull expensive heated or cooled air from your living space under the basement floor. Our precision sealing and vacuum balancing ensure we pull gas primarily from the soil—not the air you’ve paid to heat.
